What Are the Levels of Six Sigma?

What are the levels of six sigma? When you take Six Sigma as a certification course, you will be told to complete a certain number of projects before you get your Six Sigma certification. There is also a methodology that is taught with this certification, and it is called Lean Six Sigma. The methodology focuses on smaller, faster results for better results overall. With that in mind, if you are working in the business or in a position that requires you to have Six Sigma certification, then you already know that the company wants you to see improvements. They need you to notice the improvements so you can create them, and the best way to do that is to keep the development process moving forward and use tools that make the project easier.

When you take Six Sigma as a certification process, you will work through some low level projects before moving into the higher level projects. You might start out by working on an individual project. You might move on to larger projects as your skill level increases. The certification course usually works to increase your ability in larger projects. You cannot jump from one project to the next without first completing a level of certification.

What are the levels of six sigma? Each level is certified separately so you will have to focus on each before you are certified. The first level, Green Belt, teaches you the basics. It includes courses in planning, analysis, data cleansing, statistics, and the basics. You will not learn anything specific about Six Sigma at this level, but you will be familiar with concepts that are important to Six Sigma.

The second level, Black Belt, includes training based on the methodology of six sigma. At this level, you will have more control over the projects you are involved in. You will also have a deeper understanding of the statistical analysis methods. You will study the formulas and work with the relationships to understand and measure the quality of the product or service you are offering. You will learn how to perform hypothesis testing and statistics that include significance testing using the appropriate software. The last two modules, Yellow Belt and Master Black Belt, specialize in project supervision, management, data cleansing, and administration.

What are the modules you will take to earn six sigma certifications? At six sigma certification level one, you will learn concepts from the first two levels. These include learning to manage a group, learning about statistics. At level two, you will gain knowledge about data cleansing, learning about testing methods, and learning about statistics. This is the foundation for what will be taught at the higher levels of Six Sigma.

There are certain processes that must be completed to achieve the certification. You will need to review for the six sigma black belt, pass a final exam, and pass a test or projects based on what you learned in the modules you took. Some of the topics you will cover include training your staff, training and developing your project teams, training and developing your own employees, developing Six Sigma project templates, and using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) process. This is a very important area because it not only includes six sigma tools, it also explains why you need to use them.

There are also other things to know if you want to attain the level three certification which is also known as Master Black Belt. First of all, you will need to do a lot of hands-on training and you will need to do it when you are actually working. This means you will have to attend conferences and get trained by others. Once you have done this, you will need to take the actual testing. The actual test will involve many aspects of Six Sigma including training and you will need to complete the project from scratch.

When you are looking at what are the levels of six sigma, you will see that there is a difference between levels one through four. However, the actual certification that you earn is only level three. At level four you will be able to take actual live courses or you will be given modules that you can follow and work them into your own projects. As you become more experienced you will move up to level five and six. These are the most important ones and they will explain what your role in the company is and how they should be planned and implemented.
